THE ARBOR TEAM
Stan is a Managing Director at Arbor Advisors. He started his career working in corporate finance on Wall Street, then worked as a negotiation advisor with the consulting arm of The Harvard Negotiation Project. In this capacity he traveled to over 75 countries and worked with corporations and governments, negotiating transactions and mediating conflicts. Before co-founding Arbor, Stan was the General Manager of a Linux-based software company. He graduated from Brigham Young University and has an MBA from The Harvard Business School. He is a former Kellogg Fellow and a member of The Council on Foreign Relations. He is currently on the faculty of The Stanford School of Engineering where he teaches Negotiation and Sustainable Development.
Chris is a Senior Advisor at Arbor Advisors where he focuses on healthcare IT and medical device transactions. He began his career in engineering with AneuRx (acquired by Medtronic) and Bacchus Vascular (acquired by Covidien). Chris founded and managed Acumen Medical (acquired by Medtronic) and AUST Development, an independent design firm specializing in medical products. Chris completed medical school and post-graduate training at the Stanford School of Medicine where he has also served on the faculty. He is a former Stanford Biodesign Fellow and a clinician with board certification in Internal Medicine. Chris has authored over 30 US patents, and has both a BS and an MA from Stanford University.
Scott is a Senior Advisor at Arbor Advisors, where he focuses on software and Cleantech-related transactions. He has worked as both an advisor of, and investor in, technology companies for over 20 years. Scott founded New Energy Capital, one of the leading early investors in cleantech infrastructure, and has an extensive track record of investment in clean energy and renewable materials infrastructure projects. From 1999-2005, Mr. Brown was a member of the National Advisory Council of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Mr. Brown has served on the Boards of Directors of Ze-Gen, Next Step Living, and STR, Inc., as well as numerous energy related project company boards. Scott is also the past President of Conflict Management Group, and the past Associate Director of the Harvard Negotiation Project. In this capacity, Scott advised governments, corporations, and political groups throughout the world on complex negotiations and transactions. Scott graduated from Dartmouth College and has a JD from Harvard Law School.
David is a Vice President at Arbor Advisors and has over 15 years of experience in finance and banking. In his role at Arbor, David is responsible for ensuring excellence in the firm’s engagements and maximizing outcomes for clients. Over his career in investment banking, David has been engaged in over $1 billion in aggregate transaction value in the technology, media, and telecom sectors. Prior to joining Arbor, he was an investment banker at Wells Fargo Securities and Piper Jaffray in their technology, media, and telecom coverage groups. He then spent three years at ArchPoint Partners (now known as Houlihan Lokey), providing M&A and capital raising advice to software companies. He has worked on over 30 successful transactions over his career, including acquisitions, divestitures, private placements, IPOs and secondary public equity offerings. David started his career at Morgan Stanley where he spent over six years advising clients on investment strategies. David holds an MBA from The University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business where he graduated with academic honors.
Shane is a Vice President at Arbor Advisors and has more than 10 years of experience as an investment banker, business operations manager, and entrepreneur. In his role at Arbor, Shane is responsible for driving the firm’s business development efforts to source new clients as well as helping clients execute successful transactions. Shane has executed over $600 million of M&A and capital raising transactions over his career. Prior to joining Arbor, he helped drive the strategic development of Goldman Sachs’ derivative trading systems. Previous to this, he was co-founder and CFO of a biotechnology company that developed a safer device for a cricothyrotomy. Shane holds dual bachelor’s degrees in biology and economics from Union College.
Ben is an Associate at Arbor Advisors where he is responsible for executing and sourcing M&A and Private Equity transactions. Prior to joining Arbor, Ben worked in the New York office of Proskauer Rose where he helped execute over $30 billion in aggregate transaction value across several industries, including multiple engagements with clients in the technology, media & telecommunications verticals. Prior to working at Proskauer, Ben worked at IMG, a global sports and entertainment agency, now owned by William Morris Endeavor and Silver Lake Partners. Ben joined IMG after exiting Talemon Advisors, a talent management company devoted to helping athletes, artists and entertainers monetize their brands; he was CEO and a co-founder. Ben graduated from Stanford University with a degree in Science, Technology and Society.
Ryan is an Associate at Arbor Advisors, responsible for business development and execution of the firm’s M&A and capital raising transactions. Prior to joining Arbor, Ryan worked as a Business Development Consultant for the financial technology startup, Axial, where he helped financial and strategic buyers source Private Equity investment opportunities. Before Axial, he worked in the Asset Management Group at PNC Bank. Ryan graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a major in Economics and a minor in History.
Joey is an Associate at Arbor Advisors. In his role at Arbor, Joey is responsible for business development as well as executing successful M&A and capital raising transactions. Prior to joining Arbor, he worked as a business strategy consultant at Waterstone Management Group, a boutique firm that focuses exclusively on the technology sector. Before Waterstone, Joey worked in private equity at Altamont Capital Partners, helping to analyze and value potential investments. Joey graduated magna cum laude from the University of Southern California with a major in International Relations Global Business and a minor in Accounting.
Daniel is an Associate at Arbor Advisors, responsible for business development and execution of the firm’s M&A and capital raising engagements across all technology sectors. Prior to joining Arbor, Daniel worked for the financial technology startup, Funding Circle, as a Business Development Associate, where he helped secure financing for hundreds of businesses. He also previously gained investment banking experience while working for Fidelity Capital Markets. Daniel graduated from Dartmouth College with a BA in Psychology.
Shane is an Associate at Arbor Advisors. In his role at Arbor, Shane is responsible for business development and executing successful M&A and capital raising transactions across technology verticals. Prior to joining Arbor, Shane was an investment professional sourcing and analyzing potential investment opportunities at North Bridge, a growth equity firm focused on the technology middle market. Before North Bridge, Shane was an early employee at BigPanda, an IT Data Science Platform. Shane graduated from Northeastern University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Finance, and Marketing.
Tachir is the Operations Manager at Arbor Advisors, where he manages the operations of the company. Prior to joining the Arbor team, Tachir’s experience included working in Legal, Marketing, Finance for YBR Advisors, an affiliate of LPL Financial Services. He has also worked in mobile advertising and gaming at start-ups, Mobileplay & Greystripe. He holds a B.A. in International Management from the IMI University in Lucerne, Switzerland. He is a native of Switzerland.
